This 3-day handgun course is designed to teach the user how to engage threats in the defensive protection of their friends and family, who are in close proximity, and who may or may not be armed. Emphasis will be placed on 360-degree awareness, communication and movement while firing and while evacuating from the danger area. The instructor is an experienced law enforcement officer with over 15 years of experience in instructing protective operations. He has taught firearms all over the world and has adapted those techniques learned in protecting dignitaries to techniques used to protect your loved ones during dangerous encounters. Shooters should be very familiar with the operation of their handguns. There will be non-traditional firing exercises and a lot of off-line movement. This should not be your first handgun class! Anyone acting unsafe will be removed from the class..
For the sake of others in class, make sure your gear works and you are familiar with it. No one wants to stand around watching you try to figure out your new whiz-bang retention holster or your new Cabot Arms 1911. Also, this class is for those who carry to protect themselves and others– bring the gear that you NORMALLY carry. If you normally carry inside the waistband under a t-shirt, don’t show up with a thigh holster to make it easier and quicker to draw.
Please come with an open mind and a serious attitude about learning. We will have a lot of fun but understand we will be moving around each other with loaded firearms, we will be shooting next to (and probably over) others, you will be shooting when tired, while moving, and generally operating in an environment requiring 360 degree awareness. So, get your mind right about working hard and helping those around you. You have my promise that the ESEE team will give 100% to you throughout the course and we expect the same from you. You WILL be better prepared to defend yourself and your loved ones upon successful completion of the course.
