Description: A technical rope rescue training event in Wilmington, NC on board the USS North Carolina BB-55 with the training staff of Randall’s Adventure & Training and North Carolina Search and Rescue instructors. This class will involve both high angle and restricted space technical rope rescue scenarios utilizing multi-sized rescue hardware, software, and advanced techniques. Class begins at 6 PM on March 16 at the battleship parking lot. This first evening will be to sign liability waivers and go over gear and logistics of the course - no rescue work will be performed during this first evening. March 17-18 will be technical rescue evolutions on and inside the battleship. Students are required to bring all personal gear such as harness, carabiners, helmet, head lamp, PPE, etc. Extra technical gear and ropes will be supplied by the instructor cadre. A background in technical rope rescue is expected from all participants. The cost of $150.00 includes access to the battleship and two days of training. Participants are responsible for their own travel, lodging and meals during the class. We suggest bringing lunch for both days of training to avoid downtime during evolutions. This is a chance to train on one of the best venues available for technical rescue and restricted space training.
